At certain times I will look down at my phone and it is calling *22899 I believe. I never fail it and there is nothing on the other end. Just wondering if anyone else is having similar issues

As some has said above it is updating your prl for your phone. 3G devices you had to call *228 but this does not work for 4G devices. So thats why your phone automatically does it for you using the *22899

I've never had this happen on my phone. Is that because I am in a strong 4G region? Or does my phone just suck? Ha ha ha.

Well I actually have my 4g turned off because i dont have it in my area. Could that be why

It might do it without you noticing. It did to mine. I checked my prl once and checked it again after I had some data drop issues and noticed it had changed.

Can you manually call the number? Or is that not suggested? I have no signal issues, I'm just curious.

Yes you can try to dial *22899 directly. If it doesn't work then add *22899 as a contact and then call the contact.
