Razr M GPS problems???

Sorry if this has already been covered...

I just bought a new Razr M and I am having issues with the GPS on it. It won't work. When I punch in driving directions and then attempt to use navigation in the Maps app, the 'waiting for location' message comes up and does not go away until eventually it just says that location is not available. The phone is able to determine my location in the Maps app but I think that is based on cell signal triangulation. I'm not sure if its a problem with the software, hardware, or both. Is there any way I can test to see if the GPS itself is broken (I.e. is there an app that can test it). Has anyone else had this issue? I'm running android version 4.0.4

Just to make double sure, you do have GPS services enabled in "settings" > "location services" right?

I haven't had any issues yet - it's been extremely fast to be honest.

A couple of ideas depending on how you respond...

Try rebooting.

Try clearing the data in the Maps app (settings > apps > Maps > clear data) and restarting it.

I did have GPS enabled in settings, yes.

Did the reboot and cleared the Maps data and now it seems to be working...

that was easy...I kinda feel dumb...lol. I'm new to all things Android. I have to say, it feels great being liberated from the shackles of Apple

I love the GPS on my new M. I had an DX previously and it took forever to hook up on Maps. The M gets location almost instantly. I think you may have a defective device.

I second that sentiment. Mine connects amazingly fast.

What exactly have you been trying to do? So far mine's been working quite well.

My location based rule is supposed to turn on wifi when I get home... It works when it wants to... It turns itself on and off randomly when I am at home.

after using the Razr M GPS for a few days, I can say that it's been working great. Locks super quick...is very up-to-date with road information, etc. Very nice.
