Powered up the GN this morning and a green screen came up warning not to power off phone because of update? Hit the power button as instructed and phone booted up.
I have not but I am rooted so I shouldn't be. But just to help clarify for other, you do mean you are on 4.0.2 correct? I only want to make sure because if not then you are on a different version now.

Phone was powered off overnight, turned on in the early AM and rather than going into to the splash screen after a few seconds the little green Android man popped up with a warning message stating downloading don't power off and a "start" arrow pointing to the power button. As soon as I hit power the splash screen started and everything booted OK.
I checked all the phone programs and they seemed the same although I only knew 4.0.2 was system version. Not sure on the others....
Oh that's just the bootloader, kind of like "odin mode" in other samsung phones... it says "downloading" b/c it's waiting to be connected to do something - essentially anyway. So you didn't actually get an update, unfortunately for the rest of us

This happened to me just the other day. I wondered why it booted up into "odin mode", might have accidentally hit the volume key real quick without noticing (I was trying to pick up the phone while booting up).
Totally understandable... I remember the first time I did that on the GS2 and I was like "uh, what's downloading?!"
I'm going to lock this up just to keep it from becoming more than it is. And no worries at all - if you're coming from a Moto or HTC phone, it's definitely a different style of "bootloader" - can be confusing to say the least.
