Recovery Issue

I tried to install a custom rom but failed miserable lol. Now I get an error E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command and E:Can't open /cache/recovery/caller. I have tried to delete all user data (hard factory reset) and also tried to load update.zip and it says ClockworkMod Recovery version 2.5.xxx I have tried numerous .SBF fixes with RSD Lite but to no solution. Been trying for almost 8 hours to fix this. I may be doing the SBF part wrong but i doubt it. Someone please help me please I don't want to lost my phone lol. Thank you in advance.

Update I got the phone to load the android OS but can't get airplane mode to turn off and also the slide out keyboard is completely wrong when you try to press in numbers/symbols. I have the droid 2 global version if that makes a difference. Cannot get back into the recovery mode to try and flash again (not factory wiping but the menus that are written in green.)
