"regular" ring tone

Every once in a while, my Bionic rings a "regular" sounding ring. Like a regular old-time phone. What is this signaling?

Is it an incoming phone call? You may have inadvertantly set a custom ringtone for a contact.

This exact thing has been happening to me. It seems to happen just as I am either beginning to dial or just as I am hanging up, usually at home when connected to my Verizon network extender. I haven't Googled it yet but I think it's maybe network connection related.
