Remapping Hardware Keys

Recently the home button on my Droid X stopped working. I have the Button Savior app from the market and it works flawlessly, but it would be really nice if there was a way to change the search button's function to work like a home button instead. Is this at all possible?

All these button apps are for rooted phones. Do you know of any for non rooted?

unfortunately no, the only one I know of is Button Savior. Try opening a new thread with that question, I bet someone else can help
