Remove APPS

Hello
I loaded the incorrect news and weather app for my local area, now I can not delete the one I no longer need. I have tried to drag the app to the remove area many times, any clues what else can be done to remove a no longer wanted app?

Drag it to the remove area and hold it there until it says "uninstall" or something like that

Go to menu/settings/applications/manage applications. From there you can delete them. Or "uninstall."
