Every time I restore my phone or try a new rom, the market automatically installs every application I had on the previous rom. It tries installing like 40+ apps. Is there a way to turn the this option off? I'm going to start fresh and I dont want all these apps on my phone, just the google apps.

I want to do a factory reset to start fresh...should i uncheck "back up my data" or "automatic restore"? i don't want to lose my contacts/data, i just don't want the market install apps when my phone starts.

thx guys...

You can either force stop the market in settings>apps>manage or skip the google sign in. I like to skip the google sign in then install a copy of ti from the card, restore apps, sign into google

I hear all the time that your phone will redownload your market apps...however, I have the problem you want. For some reason, I can't figure out how to get it to reinstall automatically. I've even waited as much as half a day, but nothing.

Of course, I know that doesn't help your question...just providing my 2 cents.
