Remove text message chat bubbles

Is there a way to have the text messages not appear as chat bubbles? I have googled it but have not found an answer.

I just checked, and I saw no setting to change the bubbles. I know in Handcent you can change them though. DLd it in the market if you want to, I believe it just became usable on the D2.
