Removing bluetooth devices

How does one remove a paired bluetooth device. I seem to have lost my headset and want to remove it from the device list on the phone. Any help appreciated.

go to your bluetooth settings and your device should be there. just hold down the device and there should be an unpair option. it'll be gone after that

Still there

Ok, did that. It's unpaired...Is there way to remove it so I don't see it as a device. Do I have to power down the phone or something
