Restore just one app from Nandroid backup?

I've done the usual search and didn't find anything on this, so…
I was running 2.1 OS and I upgraded to 2.2 Froyo that everyone is talking about.
I did a nandroid backup before i upgraded. I had installed a limited beta app that is now no longer in the market, just because it was a limited beta.
So now I've got 2.2 but not the app in question. However I've also got a nandroid backup with the app in there somewhere. Does anyone know if nandroid would store something useable that I could get that app from?

open the nandroid folder in question on pc
use 7zip to open archive of system.tar
look in /app
copy beta app to sd card
install or push
enjoy

Nevermind....
