Is there a way to make or an app for either the volume or camera button a silence button...when i get a text or call depending on where i am it would be nice to just push an outside button to silence the ringtone / notification tone so i can read it when i can not have to take the phone out push power unlock screen and then use the top pull down menu to silence...what a pain

and i use Handcent for my messeging with the droidmod program

Hitting the rocker when a notification happens should silence the notification. Is this not what you want?
