I just came across this app over on the android.com forums. If you've been having issues with inadvertently turning your volume up, down or off without realizing it (easy to do with the side mounted rocker switch), then download this really great little app (called RingGuard in the Market). The way it works is to require a manual confirmation of a volume change before anything can be done. So if you are pressing the rocker switch without realizing it - you would have to manually click the "okay" button to confirm the change.

This is exactly what I've been looking for! I can't tell you how many times I've turned my ringer either down too much or completely off and missed calls as a result. That's all history now! Kudos for the guy that came up with this freebie!
He's made my life much happier! :) cuskit

Yes, he actually introduced the app himself a few days ago.

Mike how is that ebay case working out for you, did it loosen up a bit or is the phone still tight like a virgin on prom night in that case?

I like the way you put that! :) Thanks for asking!

Actually - I cut a piece of wood twice the thickness of my droid, and I'm leaving it in the case for a few days. Hopefully that'll open it up a bit. That elastic on the sides is REALLY strong! I want it to work because it's of very high quality - like a Coach wallet! cuskit

Where do I find this Ring Guard app, please?
Nancy - you will find it in the Market (for download to your phone).

In the event you are unaware of the Market - it comes preloaded on your Droid, it's your one stop place to go to find zillions of apps for your Droid. If there's no widget for it on your homescreen - open your app drawer and you will find it there. Questions - come right back - we'll be happy to assist you! :) mikey

I'm glad I read this post as I just ordered you Mikradle. Nice looking work there; can't wait to get it and try it out. Unfortunately I can't take my phone into work, but it'll look great here at home. Many thanks! :motdroidhoriz:

Thank you!

You've got mail! ;)

I appreciate the patronage. - You will need to take your MIKRADLE to work with you, when your boss sees it - he'll (she'll) decide you need to bring your phone to work just so that he (she) can admire your MIKRADLE every day! :icon_ banana:

Okay - just funnin'... :) But I have to admit - they are something to behold - you will appreciate my words once you receive it! And I'll look forward to you returning here (or one of the other dozen or so MIKRADLE threads floating around here in the forums with feedback on your thoughts about it! :) Thanks again - mikey

You folks have to understand that Mike is only helpful on threads like this in the expectation that readers will be bowled over by the magnificence of the Mikradle. :)

(Just funnin'. Mike's actually a very helpful fellow. And the Mikradle is a great accessory. I've had mine since an early production run. It's especially useful if you have a case on your Droid you don't want to pry off regularly. And if you use Screebl, as I do, you can place your Droid vertically on the Mikradle for extended hands-free use without resetting the 15 second timeout.)

Oh, by the way, Mike's also right about RingGuard. It's a nice little safety feature that saves one both embarrassment from a loud incoming call or prevents you from missing one.

Aw shucks! You're onto me! :icon_ banana:

Actually - I've reached over 800 posts here mostly because of my interest in the Droid and related software/hardware/apps/etc... I'm every bit as much a fan of the Droid as every single guy/girl on these forums! To tell you the truth - I'm addicted to the forums! There! I'm out of the closet! :)

Seriously - I'm a member in several other Android forums, and none come close to the thorough and up to the minute content here! This place rocks! The MIKRADLE is actually secondary to my interest here - though I won't complain at all that being a Supporting Vendor allows me to "hawk" my products with every post! :) :) But I will say - the Administrators, Mods and News staff here are absolutely WOOT! I can't tell you how great the relationship is with them - an absolutely nice bunch of guys (and girl) for sure! I feel like family here when corresponding with them!

And it helps to have the members of the MIKRADLE OWNERS CLUB chiming in all over the place here on droidforums with compliments and "tip o' the hat" to me and my product! I really appreciate this - believe me! And you seem to have an uncanny knack to find my every post here - you are giving me a really big swelled head.. And I'm loving it! :) Thanks! All of you! :) mike
