I'm going to be travelling to Mexico soon and want to make sure that I don't incur a house payment of roaming charges while there. I still want to be able to use the phone, text, check email, etc. so here's what I'm thinking of doing.. Tell me if I'm even close:
Step 1:
Dialing *#*#4636#*#*
select Phone Information
Menu button
select +More
Disable data connection
Step 2:
Use Airplane Mode
Step 3:
Turn on WiFi
I'm thinking by doing all three steps, all the apps that use the Network services will be turned Off and not running constantly.. unless using the free WiFi.. which isn't charging me anything. And then logging into AIM or some Instant message service to have some contact with home.. just in case. Let me know what you think.. and Thanks.
