roll back / downgrade

Is there any way to roll the Incredible back to 2.1? I got the 2.2 upgrade yesterday, and it's awful. Tons of bloatware, lag galore, about 10 of my programs randomly run themselves for no reason, etc.

Terrible, terrible "upgrade" HTC.

I'm no expert, but if you have a rooted phone you should be able to put the old version on the way others put the leaked 2.2 software on their phones before the official update rolled out.

This may be true, but unfortunately there's no way to root 2.2 yet.
