One thing has been bugging me with this. The moto phones with locked bootloaders can have surface roms installed (no kernel or radio update obviously). Why is there no development like this going on for the rezound? Does the hboot check that far ahead on HTC devices?

For that matter, how does the RZR have an ICS boot without a kernel change

I dunno man. I'm waiting for it just like you. HTC phones aren't as popular on the verizon side of things. People are all up on the Razr and Nexus jock. I just hope the real developers push out the OTA Update sooner rather than later.

Moto phones can be bootstrapped. So what you get is a second init ROM. I don't know that anyone ever tried to do this with an HTC phone. I'll take a second init ROM over Sense any day.
