This is the first device that I unlocked so I can't answer that, but I was able to get OTA updates on rooted devices.
That usually takes away root but there is an app that allows you to put it back after receiving OTA updates.
No, neither prevent them. Installing a custom recovery and/or installing a custom ROM can prevent OTA updates though. But even then, you should still be able to accept them.
Note that accepting an OTA update will unroot your device, and remove your custom recovery if you have one.
