Amazon has been selling devices at a discount if you are willing to sell them ad space on your lock screen. Basically this just means for a few dollars off the purchase of your smartphone you are inundated with ads galore on your lockscreen. Of course XDA members have been looking for ways to circumvent this. A.Fitz has decided to get the ball rolling on a bootloader unlock method which will ensure root for the device. Once rooted you will be able to remove the ads that are baked into the software on the Amazon Moto G4 Play. One XDA member Ledothis has already been able to get tethered root for the device.
