Rooted Droid X doesn't like to scroll in horizontal position

Hi Gang. I know this seems weird.

When in the horizontal position it is very difficult to scroll, sometimes impossible, but when I turn the phone to the vertical position it works great.

I do have the Verizon screen protector, but why would vertical work great and horizontal work crappy?

Any suggestions?
