Rooted for what reason? How to get OTA after being rooted w/o issues

I know the OD once rooted you can uninstall bloatware easily now once you root you need to rename the .apk to .bat to remove? what's the point of rooting if you can do this is root explorer? Now how do you get a working OTA update w/o any issues? Thanks

I'm not quite sure I understand the first part of your question. You can't use root explorer without being rooted (therefore why root is necessary). Root explorer grants superuser R/W permissions which allows you to rename the bloatware.

Since I am still on an OG, I may be incorrect when I say this, but I believe the only way you could take an official OTA on the bionic would be to unroot and unfreeze bloatware (rename back to .apk) or to use the one-click fastboot.
