Rooted Nexus not updating.. is this normal?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I rooted my verizon Galaxy Nexus phone awhile ago but I don't think it is receiving updates. I'm still on Android Version 4.0.2, and I'm pretty sure a newer version has been rolled out. Is this normal, and is there a way around it so I have the latest version of android OS? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

There hasn't been a new version rolled out.
Rooting doesn't prevent OTA updates.
