Rooting a New droid, stock 2.1 help

I'm trying to do this the easiest way possible. I could never get adb working and I can't find an update.zip method. Once rooted I am comfortable flashing recovery from terminal on phone and downloading roms.

So is there a simple/update.zip method to root 2.1?

No you need RSD Lite to flash SPRecovery, then flash a Rom to obtain root.

Thsnk you. Got the SPrecovery on there now using RSD, time to get some roms going! I appreciate the quick help!

think about ROM Manager Premium... great program that flashes the roms for you, makes it easier and a lot easier to update. plus theres whole bunches of extras in there too!
