Rooting and Ice Cream Sandwich

When I get the D4, I will obviously want to root it so I can freeze the 13 VZW bloatware apps that I saw come with it. The thing is, when ICS comes out as an OTA upgrade, it will almost certainly break root. I remember the nightmare some D2 owners had regaining root after the Gingerbread upgrade because of the leftover, now defunct, superuser file, which couldn't be deleted.

Is this something I can also anticipate with the D4? Would I be better off putting up with the bloatware until ICS comes out, then rooting?

Thank you.

You're better off rooting and flashing an ics rom that way you don't have to worry about a buggy ics Motorola rom.
