Rooting Help :)

Hey, I just recently got my droid x and have been reading up on rooting it. What are all the pros and cons of rooting. This is my first smartphone and im really afraid of bricking it. Sorry, Im a noob dancedroid. Anyway, is it safe to root it and if i do brick it, will i have to take it for a replacement or can i fix it myself?

I can't help you on how to root a phone I know how I've just never rooted my DX mainly cuz I here vzw wont honor your warranty for you bricking your phone!

Only con is voiding your warranty but even that can be resolved. Its all pros dude. Do it. You will never go back. There are sooooo many threads on here on rooting. Just do some research first. But I highly recommend it. Your phone has so much potential. Rooting unleashes it

I've actually been thinking about rooting I know the pros of rooting but I think ill wait till after GB is released

GB is not rooted yet (the official release). I would just root now and flash a gb leak or a froyo rom and enjoy the butter smooth performance. Who knows when the ota GB will get root (prob not long I imagine).
