Looking to root my friend's Incredible 2. I've ran into 2 snags. #1- All guides are for Windows and I run Ubuntu 10.10. I can get a Windows PC, but I'd prefer to avoid that kind of dull crisis. Still, thats not the main issue. #2 is, the programs I've found for it seem to require the Hboot to be 0.97.000 and this model, be it from the factory or an update, has 0.98.000. I've never rooted an HTC device before so it may or may not be an issue. Has anyone experienced this kind of difficulty? Again, if there is no way to root using Ubuntu, I can get a Windows PC.
