Rooting LG Ally - searched and have not found good info.

My daughter has an LG Ally with Android ver.2.2.1 that I want to root in order to use wireless tethering. I have searched the forums and cannot find any solid info on just how to do this on this phone. Is gingerbreak a solid app for this? If so, where do I find it? Any info will be appreciated.

I used the super one click one but first since you are on 2.2.1 try z4root which you can find in 4shared

There is a great community of Ally dev at Android Forums. Once you get rooted, they will help, look into the Velocity ROM.

I see this is from a few days ago but you can try gingerbreak. I used it to root my wife's old ally.
