rooting question

Since I finally got the OTA JB update on VZW...if I root, will it default to ICS again?

I've rooted before, but had gnex issues, on my third and left it stock. Thinking of rooting due to wifi tether options and volume issues. Just not sure if I will lose the JB update?

if you root it will stay on JB. I would suggest you use Wug's toolkit (seems you may be new to rooting process) - http://www.wugfresh.com/dev/nexus-root-toolkit/

Thanks. New to rooting I guess, was thinking about using super boot for Mac again. I don't have a PC, just a dell hack book.

That superboot may not work if you DL'd it for 4.0.2 or 4.0.4 ICS. Just flash this zip in cwm.
