Rooting S3 [General Questions... ] (Alreasy searched)

Hey there Droidforums.net users. It feels like too long since I came here. I finally upgraded to an S3 (on Verizon) from my D2G (R.I.P). I was thinking about rooting, and I had one question about it.

Does the ODIN method work on baseband version I535VRLHE? Or should I FDR and go back to the old and then root? And while I'm at it, what are some good ROM's to run? I hate that Verizon has the ongoing notification about Wi-Fi, Can i get that in the status bar with the other services? (GPS, Mobile Data, Bluetooth etc)

[GUIDE][VZW Edition]How to root your Galaxy SIII & More!(ROMs/CWM/Stock) - xda-developers scroll down to section 2. No need to odin and possibly trip your flash counter. Just run that program and then download ez unlocker from the playstore. You can then flash a recovery from rom manager and go flash happy. I'm currently on paranoid android and loving it!just remember to disable hw overlays in developer settings if you do flash this rom.
