rooting trouble

i tried rooting my eris it did not work but now i have a superuser permission icon in my phone, how can i get rid of that? someone help pleaseeee. thanks

Shipped ROMs
That is the RUU file to flash to stock. XDA has info on flashing it. I would assume you install the exe to your computer and run it.
