This pic may not exactly fit the story, but it was a good approximation.

According to some supposed insider intel, Samsung is working on a new 5.8-inch Screen that takes visuals to a whole new level. The source of this info claims that Samsung is developing something called a ClorOLED display that will be available by June of 2013, and there are quite a few new advancements in the tech. Up until the newest Galaxy Note II, Samsung has been mostly using a PenTile arrangement for their display matrix. This new ClorOLED will instead use an RGB matrix and achieve 1024x980 resolution with 358ppi density.

Of course, if you do the math on this resolution, you only come up with 244ppi, and that is where the other key difference for their new tech comes in. Supposedly, the new ClorOLED display will have no less than 16 subpixels in its RGB matrix, which will be a stunning achievement and should allow for super-bright and crystal-clear images. In fact, this tech may have actually been leaked previously. We have heard tidbits about a new breakthrough from Samsung called Fine Metal Mask (FMM) that will supposedly allow 350+ppi pixel densities in their conventional OLED display tech. This could simply be an extension of that technology.

Right now we don't know anything for sure, but we will keep you informed if/when we hear more. Could this be a hint of the Galaxy Note III for next year?

eh.. they have not even released the note 2 yet for purchase too soon to really build a note 3. The market is still trying to feel where is too big for consumers to consider purchasing for a phone. I am thinking 5.5 may be the max.

that is some impressive stuff!! Funny as well since the GNOTE 2 isnt out yet and this "could" be the GNOTE 3. I look forward to hearing more about this.

What is the likely hood that this will increase batter consumption? When full HD TVs first came out they were power hungry monsters. I can only imagine that handheld tech will be the same way until they can figure out how minimize power consumption. To me, these super BAMF (that is Bad Ass Mother...you get the idea) screens are going to use a lot of power.

im kind of on the same page with you. Why not push it to 6" and include a wireless ear piece? Id by that. small tablet, easy to care, super BAMF screen, plus it is a phone. Saves you the trouble of having two devices and looking like you are holding a cookie sheet next to your head

Are you serious?
lol they already have something that might be a Note 3 @ 5.8"?
This is the not the Note 3, this is the Samsung Galaxy Etch-A-Sketch 1.
Wow smh.

Stop making the phones larger, they don't even have feedback from consumers on how they feel about going to a 5.5" phone.

I overheard sales people in AT&T complaining about Samsung increasing the size of the Note. They were saying they will never convince people it can be their primary cell.

I personally think Samsung runs out of ideas and just makes phones bigger. Why else would they make the S3 bigger than the Gnex? I never heard someone say, "If only the Gnex had a bigger screen..."
Maybe they are smarter than us all, and in 2 years they can throw an updated touchwiz skin on the original Note and sell it as the Galaxy S5.

I'd like my G'Nexus' screen to be larger. I also like using wireless headsets, and would like to combine tablet and phone in one. Only problem would probably be is pocket size. Might make screen damage more common too.
Hell, I'd get a nexus 7 if it came w/ 4g LTE and I could make phone calls on it. Or did I miss something about the nexus 7...
