Apparently, one particular HTC phone is the ultimate spy of the Android mobile phone world. This phone is the teased quad-core Tegra 3 beast and has gone through more codenames than Tom Cruise in a Mission Impossible flick. Okay... maybe not "that" many, but the phone has been called the Edge, the Endeavor, and the Supreme. At one point it was confused with the Ville, although that turned out to be a different phone altogether. The latest rumor claims to have insider information on the actual retail name of this elusive device: the HTC One[sup]x[/sup] (note the superscripted "X" is part of the name).
This name might actually stick this time. For one, HTC trademarked the name in Europe last year. Two, an HTC subcontractor recently reserved the Danish URL htc-one-x.dk. This lends some credence to the report, and, more than likely, we will know something for sure at Mobile World Congress this month. Here is a spec recap on what we suspect will be in this new HTC One[sup]x[/sup].
- Tegra 3 processor
- 4.7-inch HD display
- Point-and-shoot-like eight-megapixel camera
- Sense 4.0 running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
