This newest rumor is one that will surely be a big "kick in the gut" to some. Apparently, a Samsung rep told some journalists at the IFA conference that Samsung has no plans to bring their newest Galaxy Tab 7.7 or Galaxy Note to the United States. A reason was not given, but the speculation is that they want to focus on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, and that the U.S. carriers don't want to try to compete with the Amazon Tablets coming out later this year. For now, the only way to get these devices in the States will be to import them, which will cost a hefty premium.

[Update: Nevermind] Samsung Has No Plans to Bring Latest Tablets to USby Quentyn Kennemer on September 2nd, 2011 at 9:28 am [Update] Looks like the rep that GBM spoke to was mistaken. Samsung actually hasn’t announced availability for ANY region at this point. It happens, I suppose. Folks should know that you can’t fully trust the word of a product specialist in this day and age. With that, there is certainly hope that Samsung will end up bringing these devices State-side.[Update: Nevermind] Samsung Has No Plans to Bring Latest Tablets to US
