An interesting new Sprint device showed up at the Bluetooth SIG recently. This new device is most interesting because of its internal hardware content and model number. First, the device is model named LG-LS980. The LS part of the model means it is going to Sprint. The 980 part means it is likely one of the Optimus line. What makes this device particularly intriguing is that it comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800.
This chip hasn't even been officially released by Qualcomm yet, so more than likely this device is scheduled for late Summer or early Fall. More than likely that means it will be the next in the Optimus series, making it the Optimus G2. Then again, it's also possible this could be the Nexus 5 we have been seeing small hints about for some time. One of the reasons this is thrown into the speculation mix is because this device eschews the microSD slot. This isn't something LG normally does, unless you count the Nexus 4.
