Samsung Fascinate... crappy hardware

look I know that the Super AMOLED screens are beautiful but I don't understand why anybody would buy a galaxy s phone if the plasticy outside design is so cheap feeling... anybody have a fascinate here? enlighten me.:blackdroid:

Muh, kinda like the constuction of the HTC devices.

I dont particularly like it....which is why I do like Motorola's devices, they are built well.

The fascinate is very light. I also wouldn't say moto has great build quality, my Droid has the headphone jack problem and the bronze speaker grill is caving in.

Are you serious? Sure, the fascinate has a plastic back cover, but if you break or scratch it you can buy a brand new one from verizon for $5 with free overnight shipping.

Plus the fascinate has the best cpu and gpu currently available in a phone.

To each his own. Of course everyone's opinion is going to be different. I dont like the Fascinate, I like the X and D1 or D2.

I never had a problem with my D1, or my X now. I did however have to send my Incredible back 2 times for different reasons. But like I said, each person will have different experiences.

I hate light feeling phones they feel cheap I have a droid x and I love the feel.

I always kind of chuckle when someone brings up the build quality of a phone. It's good for my girlfriend, who has cracks all over her iPhone case, and has managed to crack the LCD on an old one. Personally, I worry about build quality for stuff like my tools, but not my cell phone. Also, I'm willing to bet that a "heavy" feel doesn't translate to better protection from drops, it's just more momentum.

I love my Droid 1, my deal is buy a phone based off what suits your needs best and which one catches your eye more then others and just take care of the darn thing, regardless of build you should always take care of your things, in doing so will help prolonge the life of any device

I do agree with that, regardless of what device I have ever used, it was always mint when I was done with it....always.

Why is this even a thread? Complaining about the cover? $5 replacement. I got the oem shell holster combo for $14. Perfect fit for the Fascinate, makes the phone even cooler and gives it a solid phone feel in your hands.

I was reluctant for that reason. Especially since I am known to drop my phones. I finally decided to get it because my husband got the Droid X and it's a too big for me. Plus, I've always had great luck with Samsung products. It's tougher than you would imagine. I've dropped it once or twice and not a single scratch our other damage. Screen is still perfect, even with no screen protectors.
