Samsung Fascinate Java issues?

I recently purchased the Samsung Fascinate, and have noticed that when using certain apps (though mostly Food Spotting) I have been getting the following message:

> Whoops! We ran into some problems!

What does this mean and how can it be fixed? I have factory restored my phone twice and the error message continues to pop up.
