Here's the latest rumint on the Samsung Galaxy Alpha. Previous rumors pegged a mid-August reveal for the device, but today's insider info claims it will launch on August 4th. If true, this would be at least a month before Apple launches their next iPhone. This would suggest Samsung wants to milk consumers of any desire to get a new phone by the time the iPhone rolls around.
We aren't sure if this strategy will get much traction, especially considering the latest rumored features of the Galaxy Alpha. What was originally supposed to be a "premium" device keeps getting downgraded. First we hear for months that it would have a metal case, but that later turns out to be a metal frame with plastic back. Then, just a few days ago, we get word that it will only have a 720P display.
We aren't sure what to make of this one, and are beginning to lean toward the idea that the Galaxy Alpha will simply be another spammy device from Sammy. What do you think?
