Samsung Galaxy S2 Specifications And Launch Details

4.3” inch Super AMOLED 2 display, 2 GHz CPU, 8 MP camera, those are all specs of a new device Verizon is rumored to be getting. This story comes from Android Central, who apparently received a tip from some Samsung insider containing information regarding this upcoming Galaxy S replacement.

The information did not stop there. Today, Engadget received an invite to a launch party Samsung is holding to release their latest Android device for Verizon. Now I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a great connection of information.

The last information that I think is well worth letting you know is about the fact that it will be running Android 3.0 software, which is either going to be called Honeycomb, or Gingerbread depending on what Google is feeling as there has been some debate about Google bumping a major version number to 2.3 before 3.0 arrives.

Here is the remaining information:
• 4.3-inch SAMOLED2 display at 1280x720 and 340 dpi
• 2 GHz CPU
• 1 GB RAM, 4 GB ROM, 32 GB storage with microSD slot for cards up to 32 GB
• 8 MP camera with full HD video recording
• Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, A-GPS
• Accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity and all the other Android standards
• Running Android 3.0

Wow. Here's hoping this is true especially considering how Moto has been locking their phones down. It would be nice to have a superphone like the rumored T2 but with the hackability of current Galaxy S phones. That would be my Droid replacement if it does come.

I would through my Rooted/ApeX/Revolution DX out the window for that monster. I'm sick of Moto's **** anyways I don't think I will give the satisfaction of purchasing another phone if they are to continue to be locked down.

I wouldn't expect this phone until some time next year. That event in november is probably for the samsung contiuum which is the phone that androidcentral leaked with the ticker at the bottom. Again I wouldn't expect this until sometime next year

welcome to the beginning of the future. apple won't be able to keep up with the competition that's coming. i really hope samsung goes super high quality like i think they're going to. it will be great to have another real player in the market.

all i can say is WOW. 2 ghz processor, 32gb internal, 4gb rom and 1gb ram? that is too much. this really is the beginning of the end of all other operating systems.

I doubt this event is for a Galaxy S2. Probably for a device such as the Continuum or something along those lines.
Besides, the Samsung Galaxy S series is doing wonders for them right now, no need to jump on a second.
