We have a couple of leaked photos that the source claims are representative of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Plus. According to the source of this leak, the new device has several intriguing new features, not the least of which is a curved display.

The photos obviously don't show the entirety of the device, so it's really hard to make a judgement of approval either way. The display in the shots does seem to have a curved display, but this would be the first rumor we have heard of such a thing for any Galaxy S7.

Here are the rest of the specs as shared by the source:
  • 5.71-inch display with 2560 x 1440 resolution
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 mated with 4GB of RAM
  • Front camera is 5MP
  • Rear camera is 12.2MP
Some of these specs match up with previous rumors (namely the processor and RAM), but the rest are way off from earlier intel. While we caution you to take this with a grain of salt, the same could (and probably was) said for the earlier rumors as well. As always, we will keep an eye out for you.

Please check out our dedicated section for the Galaxy S7 series: Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Plus, S7 Edge & S7 Edge Plus | Android Forum at DroidForums.net

Both leaked images can be seen in the thread below.

There is no way Samsung would downgrade their now famous, industry leading, camera in their flagship devices.

Obviously these are just rumors, but a lower MP count doesn't necessarily mean lower picture quality. Samsung is "supposedly" going with completely new camera optics on the S7, so anything is possible at this point. One thing we can be certain of is, it'll be one of the best cameras on the market when it is released. (At least for a few months) That said, this is one area where Samsung continues to excel at year after year, and is what continues to keep me loyal to the brand. I love a good camera with a phone attached.
