Samsung announced today that Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge owners can now order the Gear VR Innovator Edition online for $199 from Samsung's website or BestBuy.com and will be available at Best Buy stores on May 15th.
The Gear VR was first announced back at MWC alongside the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, and works with both devices. It includes a microUSB port for powering the unit separately. Samsung says that this new unit is more comfortable than the original model. If you haven’t used a Gear VR, it’s pretty simple: you drop your phone in, strap it onto your face, and you’re ready to play games and view video with full 360-degree virtual reality.
