It looks like Samsung has been paying attention to the media hype surrounding the upcoming round-faced Moto 360 smartwatch, and/or their relative failures with their current square-faced smartwatches. According to the latest intel from the USPTO, Samsung filed patents for three new round-faced smartwatches.

On top of these new shapes for their wearables, they also filed for a new gesture based control patent for these devices. At least it looks like Samsung is willing to adapt to the market. What do you guys think? Could Samsung make a smartwatch as attractive as the Moto 360?

What are the patents for? Are they patenting a round smart watch? Or a round smart watch with a camera? Also, gestures? Samsung really wants to be the better patent troll, don't they.

Yes, I too am confused with these patents. How can you patent a shape?
"Circle get's the square!" (tic tac toe show reference)
