Saving Photos from messaging app.

When I save a photo from my messages, I get a disk icon instead of a choice of where to to save it. Where does the photos go when I select the disk icon?

Welcome to the Forum! It may depend on your phone model. On my phone I receive a popup message stating "Saved to the Messages album" and then the picture is saved and view-able in my Gallery app (or Photos app) in the folder / album named Messages.
