saving video to sd from email message

I'm sure this has been discussed but I couldn't find it - How do you save a video attachment to the sdcard that comes in an email? I don't see any options to do this.
Also, when I want to attach a doc, pdf etc in an email, it automatically opens my photo gallary - How can I attach other types of media/docs?
