Screen going to auto brightness

Is anybody else having an issue where your screen switches to automatic brightness when I had it set to manual at about 25% brightness...?? I have the battery saver feature turned off...is there a setting I'm missing? Its done it at 80% battery, 71% battery and 59% battery...so I'm wondering if I got a bad phone?

It doesn't always do it..and I've tried to duplicate the circumstances...but nodda...suggestions? Thoughts?

I have not had this happen. I use a widget to adjust brightness and have not seen it change from 25%

What widget?? I'll try it and see if it corrects or stabilizes my issue

Swapped the phone last night...for another maxx... It works much better..
