screen locked/manual reset

OK so my dad has a RAZR and my mom just called and said his screen is locked up. Said that my little brother called my dad, and when my little brother went to go hang up the phone, my dads phone was frozen. It still has the picture and the red end call button. But its completely frozen. My little brother hung up his phone but dads isn't. And I'm out of town. So...

..1st, anyone know what that would be? I tried to look through the other threads to see if someone already said this but I couldn't find anything.

And 2nd, no not, how to do a manual reset on the phone to see if that'll help.

Hold POWER button and VOL-DOWN button down at the same time for about 15 seconds. This should reboot the phone.

It could be that there is/was too many things running in the background, although I have never had that problem. To get it to unfreeze he should press and hold both the power button and volume down button till it restarts.
