Screen locked when rotating phone

When I rotate the phone from portrait to landscape (or vice versa) the screen does not rotate as well. I need to shake it for it to turn. This usually happens when I am texting or browsing.

Anyone know of a quick fix?

Do you have a lot of widgets on the screen?
