Screen partially broken & Warranty question

About 1/5th of my screen on the right side is unresponsive to touch and my haptic feedback seems to be broken as well. I was wondering if this is grounds for Verizon to replace my phone free of charge. Basically, I want to know if I can walk in today and they will hand me a new one. I purchased it in Feburary.

My other question is will they say my warranty is void because its rooted and running 2.2?

it should be under waranty but if they see your rooted they most likely will void it. you should make a nandroid backup of ur current rom, backup any suspicious files on your sd card, then flash back to stock. when u get a new droid just reflash your recovery, restore your nandroid backup then your done.
(you could probably remove your sd card when you take it in so they dont see your root related files)
