More info would greatly help us help you.

Are you stock?

If not, what is your current setup? Stock rooted? Custom ROM? What ROM? Custom Kernel? What kernel?

Any info about your current setup will help us help you better.

Sorry, totally stock. No new apps downloaded that I can think if.

Doesn't do it all the time though.

Try killing your web browser. If a flash app is open on a webpage the phone will dim but not go completely dark...and of course check your screen off time.

I'm having the same problem. I've found that if I take it off the charger it will turn off completely in 1 min, otherwise at the 53 second mark it will simply dim. This is even happens when the phone boots up from having the battery yanked out and before I even try unlocking the screen so nothing should be running. It also won't lock the screen, it remains on whatever I last used.

Any ideas? Does a normal stock phone turn off while charging?

Stock phone, loaded audible, Sirius xm, Facebook, speedtest, and swift key.

Do you use automatic brightness, I've had screen issues on other device models when leaving this on...also what is your screen timeout set to in settings>display>screen timeout...I only ask because there is a setting in screen timeout that says never turn off....

It was set to 60 seconds. I figured it out though, there is a never timeout screen while charging option buried in settings/applications/development. It's working now, dims at 55 and off at 50.
