Screen timeout

Im not sure what's causing this, but recently when my X is on the charger and I get a call or text, the screen will stay on. It sucks cause when i get a text after I've gone to bed, the screen stays on all night. Timeout is set to 15 sec and it works just fine when not connected.
Any suggestions?

You sure it's disabled? Settings>applications>development

Go to settings then applications then development and see if stay awake is checked.
