Screen will not rotate!

I don't know why but for some reason my keyboard when typing, or my web browser will not rotate when I turn the phone sideways.

At first I thought the entire accelerometer had stopped working but then I noticed that when I use the Camera app the icons rotate they they are supposed to if I turn the phone. However, if I'm web browsing the phone won't rotate, and neither will the keyboard if I'm texting. I believe there's a few other cases where the phone doesn't turn correctly but I can't think of them at the moment.

Any ideas?

Have you gone into display settings and enabled auto rotate ?
Heh, you know I thought it would be something like that but I only checked for the option in the keyboard settings, which doesn't have it. Sure enough, auto-rotate wasn't checked. :\ I guess I hit it by mistake. Thanks.

I know this is an older thread but I have the same issue. My screen will not auto rotate. I went into Settings>Display and the checkmark next to "Auto-Rotate Screen" is there. I tried unchecking then rechecking but still no auto rotate. I did the G-Sensor calibration but still no auto-rotate. I installed a 3rd party launcher called Nemus and enabled auto-rotate in that app and it does in fact work so its just not working with Sense. Any thoughts?

The Sense "Auto Rotate" allows apps to auto rotate the screen not the home launcher. The Home launcher does not rotate at all.

Just a heads up - I had a problem last week where the auto-rotate check box was mysteriously turned off somehow. It happened several times, I am sure I did not do it myself. I figured it must be an app that I had installed and I was going to start uninstalling recently installed apps to find the culprit, but it stopped happening as mysteriously as it started. A ghost in the machine! :-)
