Search locally on Google Maps

Hey Guys,

How do you search for local restaurants on the Droid in Google Maps?

I click Search, and it goes directly to recent searches. On my buddies Google Maps on another phone it gives the option for local searches.

Any ideas?

From a map screen menu button>more>labs , then put a check on popular categories
